In this intense one week makeup artistry certificate program, students will perfect the basic skills needed to work as a makeup artist in the beauty and bridal fields. They will learn proper makeup application techniques, brush usage and the tips and tricks of professional makeup artists. Students will also learn real – world marketing skills needed to succeed in a competitive industry. They will have the chance to work with industry professionals such as photographers, models, clients and hair stylists while still in school. Additionally each pupil will receive a 25% discount off a A.S.H.A professional portfolio photoshoot. Students will also begin to develop their own signature makeup artistry styles by completing four main looks of their creation: Natural/sculpted, a Glamourous evening look, a Bridal look and a Editorial Fashion look as well. Students will graduate with a makeup artistry certificate and the skill set needed to work in a variety of areas within the makeup field ; as well as the knowledge and confidence needed to start their careers as professional makeup artists. Students have the option of either paying a $250 Deposit for this course, or the full payment at the time of registration. If you would like to pay a deposit at the time of registration to hold your spot in the course, please come to the school 30 minutes before class on the first day, to pay your remaining balance.

This workshop is for those students who have already completed makeup artistry programs in the past or are already working in the field – but feel that they need to improve their makeup artistry Techniques to take their skill set and business to the next level! This work shop will cover Advanced Foundation Application, Advanced Eyeshadow Application, Blush placement, Eyeliner techniques, Highlighting and Contouring facial bone structure, Eyebrow shaping and correction all skills that are needed to be a world class Makeup Artist! Students will also begin to develop their own signature makeup artistry styles by completing four main looks of their creation: Natural/sculpted, Glamourous evening, a Bridal look and a fashion look as well. Students will leave this workshop with the confidence and skill set they will need to work in a variety of areas within the makeup field. This course is an excellent addition to the makeup artistry basics program. Students will gain a complimentary skill set that will make them more marketable artists. Makeup & Hair artists are more likely to get hired for a job since they can do double duty and command a higher rates of pay. Leading industry experts will teach the techniques and products that are essential to the trade. They will also showcase the newest trends in bridal hairstyles while Asha will teach the art of editorial hair. Students will leave the program with the skills needed to do both makeup and hair, thereby making themselves a more valuable commodity in the beauty industry. This course is intended for students who’s passion is fashion and editorial makeup. In a editorial photo spread, the makeup artist is called upon to create often wild, bold and outlandish looks that are part of the fantasy world that is the fashion industry. Students will be challenged to explore the limits of their creativity and learn how to “spot a trend” and understand how society and current events influence fashion as whole. The history of editorial makeup as well as top makeup artists, fashion photographers and publications will be discussed. Students will also learn about the inner workings of a runway show and the role a makeup artist plays in designing a look that encompasses the designer’s vision. This course is taught at our Toronto makeup school location.
Students will learn the techniques, products and skills they need to create flawless makeup looks that stand up to the harsh scrutiny of High definition film and television. Additionally students will learn techniques such as how to visibly age a character, bruising, how to feign the appearance of illness and much more! More importantly they will learn creative strategies for breaking into the film and television business and how to make and maintain advantageous contacts. Students will learn on set etiquette and general work requirements of a makeup artist in this field,including an understanding of the work and filming schedule and who’s who on a typical television or film production set. After graduating the Basic Makeup Artistry program, students will have the chance to work with a well known fashion photographer and create up to five looks for their portfolio to add to the two images they already have. Asha will be on hand to coach the makeup and hairstyling as well as make suggestions for portfolio appropriate looks. The new makeup artist will create looks on an industry standard model, who’s experience and skill will best showcase the makeup work. The opportunity gives students an affordable way to build a mini portfolio before they even leave school, which is a great advantage when it comes to negotiating paying making jobs upon graduation.
$650 for 3.5 hour shoot + up to 7 edited images + HST
In this course students will learn about the key elements of commonly requested period makeup. The course covers makeup from four distinct historical time frames: Elizabethan makeup from the 1650’s, Flapper girl makeup from the 1920‘s, Pin-up Girl makeup from the 1950’s and Bold and bright 1980’s makeup. Students will explore the societal factors that lead to the development of each distinct beauty trend and learn how to translate the key elements of each era into timeless modern looks. This course is especially valuable for makeup artists who wish to work in theatre or live productions. This makeup course is taught at our Toronto makeup school location.
